Rhoda – end of week 12

How I’m feeling:

I feel motivated and looking forward to having some normality back as lockdown gradually lifts.

Weight loss update:

Was not in clinic this week so no weight update. Weight lost to date 6.2 kilos/13.6 pounds.

Biggest challenge in the last week:

Had a stressful week, struggling with a very painful back which has stopped me from being as active as I would like but I managed to stayed on track. Normally the wine would be out!

Biggest success in the last week:

Getting in to my Topshop skinny jeans that have not fitted me for 18 months.

I cannot believe we are at Week 12 already!

I have really been reflecting on my journey so far, I genuinely have enjoyed the routine and structure. Previously I would almost starve myself some days then go wild at the weekends, which of course, was a completely toxic relationship to have with food.

Eating regularly is a completely new concept to me and I now have a much better understanding of what my body needs and how to stop myself from binge eating. I am (was) a textbook night-time grazer, I would eat a few sweets then just think "life is too short" and inhale the whole bag.

I have lost pretty much 1 stone and dropped a dress size, which is great, most importantly I feel like I have learned so much through talking to the therapists and watching the helpful webinars that Dr Sam provided.

I also know that it is so important for me to plan and organise my meals. Before starting my Temple Vie journey I could be good all day and come home and consume 700 calories from just picking at food whilst staring at the fridge hoping for inspiration. I have really loved experimenting with new foods and creating tasty meals so I never felt like I was missing out.

It's all well and good losing weight but if you are not equipped with the knowledge and tools to keep it off you are on a slippery slope. I feel much more confident now and I feel as I move through the phases of the programme I will know when I need to pause and not self sabotage by guzzling down sweet treats for a quick "fix".
